Welcome to taron

taron is a social platform where Africans — on the continent and in the diaspora — discover experiences, build communities, and create meaningful connections. Whether you are here to find events worth attending, build an audience as a host, or grow a community, this guide gets you moving quickly.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Sign up using your email address. You will enter your first name, last name, email, and date of birth. There's also an option to add a taron Gold Code or a referral username if someone invited you — both are optional, and each is its own field. Agree to the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines, then verify your email with a 6-digit code and set your password.

See the Creating Your taron Account article for the full step-by-step.

Step 2: Choose Your Interests

Once your account is set up — after signup, email verification, and password — taron shows you one scrollable screen with every interest category on it: Meals and Drinks, Food & Dining, Gaming & Esports, Business & Networking, Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Sports & Fitness, Learning & Education, Technology, Entertainment, Social Lifestyle, Family & Kids, Outdoor & Adventure, Non-profit & Charity, Activism & Advocacy, Civic & Society, Religious & Cultural, Funerals & Memorials, and Fashion & Beauty. Pick what you'd actually show up for — these choices shape your Home Feed and event recommendations from the start.

Step 3: Explore the Home Feed

A short welcome sequence walks you through what taron can do, then drops you on your Home Feed. It shows Highlights, Trending events, Nearby Events, Sponsored Events, and recommendations based on your interests. Browse to get a sense of what is available, and open any event that looks interesting to read the full Event Page. Profile photo, bio, and location are skippable — you can finish them later.

Step 4: Register for Your First Event

Find an event that matches your interests and register. For free events, registration takes a few seconds. For paid events, review the ticket options carefully before completing payment. Your ticket appears immediately in your account after registration.

Step 5: Join Communities

Communities are where taron's long-term value lives. Find one or two that match your interests — through events you discover, hosts you follow, or the recommendations in your feed — and join them. Participate when you can. The relationships that form inside active communities are often more valuable than any individual event.

Step 6: Follow Hosts

When you attend an event and find it valuable, follow the host. Their future events and community activity will appear in your feed, making it easy to stay connected to what they create next.
