The way you design your tickets shapes how attendees perceive the event and how much revenue you generate.
Planning your ticket structure
Keep it simple — two or three tiers is usually better than six. Each tier should offer a meaningfully different experience or price point. Too many options cause decision fatigue and reduce conversions.
Free tickets
Use free tickets for community events, launches, or any event where your goal is attendance rather than revenue. Free events still generate a registration record, so you can track who attended.
Paid tiers
Set a base General Admission price. Add a VIP tier at a premium with clear perks — front-row access, meet-and-greet, exclusive area, gift bag. Be specific about what each tier includes.
Early Bird pricing
Set a limited quantity at a lower price with an expiry date. Early Bird creates urgency and rewards your most committed audience. Once the Early Bird quantity sells out, the standard price activates automatically.
Ticket quantities
Set a maximum quantity per tier. Low inventory signals demand and motivates faster registration. You can increase quantities later if needed, but cannot reduce below what has already sold.
