taron's QR tickets are encrypted and tied to specific accounts, making them difficult to counterfeit. Here is how the system protects you and what to watch for.
How taron prevents fraud
- QR codes are unique, encrypted, and tied to the registrant's account. A screenshot of a QR code does not contain the same security data as the live code in the app.
- taronPass marks a ticket as scanned on the first use. Any attempt to use the same QR again is flagged as "already checked in."
- Multi-device sync means this flag is shared across all entry points in real time.
What to watch for
Fraudsters sometimes try to transfer a screenshot to multiple people. When scanning, check that the name shown in taronPass matches the person presenting the ticket. If there is a mismatch, do a manual lookup by their name or email.
If you suspect fraud
Do not admit the attendee if you have strong reason to believe the ticket is fraudulent. Note the details and report to taron support after the event. Do not create a scene at entry — it disrupts the experience for genuine attendees.
